There are a variety of shops, services and amenities in Heddon on the Wall. As well as an impressive stretch of Hadrian's Wall, there are two churches, a primary school, library, delicatessen, holistic therapy centre, dog grooming parlour, garden centre, nursery, veterinary practice, two pubs, a service station/spar store/post office, together with other local businesses and a business centre housed within the library building. There is a bi-monthly Free newsletter, the Heddon Gossip, which is widely distributed throughout the village and contains up to date information on all that is going on in Heddon on the Wall.
There is a Village Diary, held in Dingle Dell, so that you can record your up and coming events, thus avoiding any double bookings.
The Heddon on the Wall Local History Society has a website; this is full of interesting facts, figures and photographs of Heddon.
